On Oct. 31st, supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan gave a verdict to release an accused of a very sensitive religious issue. As per the verdict of SC, she was released as per the lack of concrete evidence against her.
A small group of the people under the influence of a political party started a protest that quickly changed into a disastrous situation after the hate speech of a few so called religious extremists. Their followers started hulliganism and vandalism. Damaging public properties, blocking all roads in and out of the major cities like Lahore, Karachi and Faisalabad.
Now, this whole incident in my opinion end up only creating a bad image of Pakistan. About 98% of population was held by less than 2% of the group that are uneducated and illiterate, with no sense of logic.
Most of the population desire peace and promote peaceful actions only. To me and most of the people i know or interact with consider this issue to be totally unnecessary. This situation create by some people only exposed their intentions and people of Pakistan are now aware more than ever that we have to beware of such people if we need to progress. Situation was handled by govt and everyone appreciated the strong stance taken by PM Imran Khan, except a few sympathizers of those extremists.
That is only possible through education.
