Pakistan: Hatred for interdisciplinary studies

One of the Hardest things to do is to reflect on your own past doings impartially and correct your course logically.
Yesterday I went for a job interview for the same post I was selected for, about two years back. I couldn’t join it at that time for one reason or another. Now when I again applied and had good chances of being selected again, I was rejected in interview due to irrelevant qualifications.
To my surprise the qualifications that were suitable in 2015 for same post are not suitable in present according to govt. New policy. Now this policy is made by a highly partial commette of individuals with their personal agendas. Furthermore, individuals all over Pakistan are doing same job with same qualifications.
Now the question arise:
1- Ineligibility of Biochemistry degree to apply for this post doesn’t in turn make all people already doing this job ineligible?
2- As HEC (Higher Education Commission) of Pakistan declares Biochemistry equivalent to Chemistry, so why these policy makers don’t accept it?
3- aren’t graduates from highest merit institution of the most reputed University of Pakistan i.e. University of the Punjab, not capable of school or college level teaching jobs?
The answer to all these questions is simple. In recent years most of such jobs have been occupied by graduates of interdisciplinary fields due to their better skills and knowledge. Hence, it was expected that some conservative and partial policy makers would be tempted to reject applicants with interdisciplinary qualifications. It is also interesting that these so called policy makers don’t have any regard for the HEC declarations.
But, an important lesson that I learned from this incident was to never give up on permanent positions for temporary engagements, no matter how catchy they seem.
