Stay Connected

Tomorrow is off, not because of some national or local event of any significance, but because of the protest against govt. that has embroiled almost all the big cities of Pakistan. The protest is based on a very typical religious issue that has been a matter of discussion since long.
Its good that i will get a day off for relaxation but is it good for everybody out there?
All the colleges and universities are off suspending the educational activities for two days. A hard working person wont be able to go to his shop to earn a living for his family just because all the markets are forcefully closed to avoid any bitter incident. A person cannot go to see his sick mother just because all the transportation is blocked.
Its funny to think that such small incidents effect countless families for better or worse and no one cares. People these days are so disconnected from each other in real time that the troubles of one family or a thousand families doesn’t seem to bother others even if we are related. But still we are connected on social media.
I believe now more than ever is a need to be connected through heart and understanding rather than on one goal, because goals change with time.
