Sonic the Hedgehog - Revamped?

Sonic used to be one of the most popular games back in our childhood. We used to play it all the time. Live action adaptations of games are always complicated and difficult to do.

Sonic the Hedgehog teaser trailer was widely criticized at first and then ignored altogether. Then, seemingly, studio listened to the fans' concerns and did some re-shoots resulting in total revamp of the movie.

Sonic the Hedgehog trailer 2 was released and it was a total BOOM.

CGI for Sonic (played by Ben Schwartz) looks far better and realistic in this trailer. But again the whole essence of the trailer lied in the performance of Jim Carrey as nemesis of Sonic named "Doctor Robotnik". As always, Jim Carrey is phenomenal in every scene he is in and your entire attention shifts to him.

The story follows jump of Sonic from his planet to the Earth where he is having a fun time alone, hiding from all humans and everyone else. He is discovered by a human named Tom Wachoski (James Marsden). In a over-powering event, sonic short circuit entire city's electric supply and then Dr. Robotnik is sent to find out the reason.

Robotnik start hunt for sonic in order to find out source of his power and to harness it. So, the movie would follow hunt and escape most part and looks like a fun ride. At the start of trailer, Sonic has been shown to ask for help from Tom but at the end he would be the one end up helping everyone.

With so many shows and movies featuring speedsters like "the flash", and Quick silver from X-men movies, let's see if this video game based speedster can make it's mark.
