Watchmen series by HBO premiered on 20th September this year and it was one of the most awaited TV series of 2019. I have been waiting for this series ever since they announced and my curiosity peaked with the first teaser trailer.
As expected from any such adaptation of a famous masterpiece comic series by Alan Moore. This series follows the aftermaths of events at the end of the comic series. Everyone was expecting this series to start from where "Watchmen 2009" movie by Zack Snyder left the audience with. But the writers i guess wanted a more comic centered perspective to the modernized version.
So, the series episode 2 picks up with Angela Abar (The Night) coming to a remote area in the middle of no where just on the wake of an anonymous call telling her that he knows what and who she is, so forget the mask and come to the scene. Chief Judd's body hanging from tree, she grabs the old black dude and take him to her secret layer (Back of her bakery store yet to open).
Apparently, this old guy is "Will", the young boy from the start of the first episode and is grandfather of Angela. He put some thoughts in her head that there might be a vast conspiracy in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Theory 1: My guess is that it has something to do with re-emergence of 7th cavalry, a white supremacist organization.
Theory 2: One other theory i have is that it is related to or will be related to the Ozymandias and his twisted view of saving the humanity by any mean necessary.
Now the question arise who is "Will" and where he has been Angela's whole life. I'm sure all its roots must be in the comic series, but the general non-comic book reader audience that watch good thriller superhero shows and movies and they liked Watchmen 2009 movie, find it hard to stick the pieces together as the show
progresses.
As at the end of the watchmen season 01 episode 02, Angela decide to arrest "Will" but he is taken off along with car with help of a huge magnet strung by a SPACESHIP?
There was just a light in sky and nothing can be said for sure that if it was a spaceship or some other object.
So, when "WILL" told Angela that "he had friends in high places" he meant it literally this time.
With this cliffhanger generating more questions than answer but still show managing suspense, thrill and interest of the audience, wait for the EPISODE 3 will be painful more than usual.
